Our prayer didn’t come to past yesterday, Ghana stealing stars led by kwasi Nyantakyi won the game which means our woes as a nation continues while the few illiterates called national team players and their thieving leaders continue to prosper.
Our question has ever and remains “what’s the benefit of football to the people of Ghana? We make budget more the prize money of the tournament itself and yet we call ourselves serious nation.
We’re poor and poor to death as a country, yet our football winning bonus continues to be one of the highest in the world. Can anybody explain this to us? Why not our teachers being compared to the best paid teachers in the world? Doctors, public servants, police and the army, why can’t we say same? Why can’t we compare them to the world highly paid employees?
There are only two reasons that one can think of this:
1. It’s either our leaders are using the football as a means to steal from the country, therefore continues to ignore the public outcry to stop wasting the state’s resources on total nonsense we called football.
2. We’re fools as a nation without knowing what we want or up to.
From the year 2000 up to today’s AFCON match, the monies accrued from football is not up to our budget for one tournament.
It’s on record, that more than 60% of Brazil’s budget comes from football, England, Germany, France and other serious nations always makes profits out of football, while we (Ghanaians) continue to improvise ourselves with football matches that we don’t even haven stable electrical power to watch.
Why is it that, those people that were banned by the committee set up by president John Dramani Mahama after the Brazilian World Cup are still with the team?
Why is it that some individuals in the black start team has become permanent players for the team? Why do we pay our football coach more than our ministers of state? What does the winning of football match bring to the nation apart from the fun of it? Why do we spend more on entertainment more than education and health?
