The founder of the Word of Restoration Assembly, Enugu and a life coach – the Rev Douglas Chukwueke has called on Christians to intensify their efforts in evangelism. He made this call in Enugu at his 50th birthday celebration and book presentation. He said that now is the best time to put all the time and resources to populate the kingdom of God.
He also admonished Nigerians to continue trusting God to help them out of the current challenges. “As we seek to fulfill the work of God in our hands before Jesus comes, God has progressively given us various directions of impacting the lives of people. Most significantly is the Disciple Making Movement. By this revelation, God has given us a ten million-souls discipleship project for the next twenty years” he said. He also encouraged Christians to shun worldliness and embrace godliness.
Rev Douglas who is the director of strategic planning of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria Enugu State chapter, but currently on a missionary work in the United States is also the initiator of Gospel Youth Ministries International, Restoration Leadership Development Institute (RLDI) and the founding member of Nekede Believers’ Association. He was born on September 19, 1966 to the family of Lilai and Ezinne Roseline Chukwueke of Umuejiechi Umualum Nekede, Owerri, Imo State of Nigeria. He had his primary and secondary education in Enugu and Owerri. He attended the Nigerian Railway Corporation Technology School, Zaria in Kaduna state and Institute of Technology Enugu where he studied accountancy.
He worked with the Nigerian Railway Corporation as a technical officer and with Monte Christo Optical Services Ltd as a manager. While he was working with the Railways, he had an encounter with the Holy Spirit that led to the birth of Gospel Youth Ministries International. At that time, he did so many evangelistic revival outreach programs in Jos, Plateau State and other neighboring towns in the North Central region of the country.
On returning from Kaduna to Enugu, his ministry to the youths backed by the Holy Spirit, signs and wonders, revival and great spiritual awakening was very effective in the Coal City. In recognition of his contributions to humanity and the church, Kingsway University Des Moines, Iowa, USA awarded him an honorary doctorate degree in church administration and management. Rev Douglas is married to the dynamic Pastor (Mrs) Gloria Tochukwu Chukwueke and they are blessed with three children – Hosanna, Shalom and Charis.
