For years, Ghanaians have futilely been looking for the source of the corruption and immorality that us decimated the moral fabric of our society.
At the 2014 Minister’s Conference of the Baptism Convention, Rev Ocquaye unreservedly ascribed the blame for Ghana’s depravity to the inability of pastors to provide good leadership.
In his opinion it is immoral for the unjust to demand for justice.
Rev Ocquaye used the platform of the Ghana Baptist’s 26th Annual Refresher Course, Retreat and Business for ministers as a conduit to convey his sentiments.
He asserted that the clergy has failed in executing its God’s given mandate to serve as a beacon for the country to live by. He also admonished the clergy about entangling itself with political parties to the extent that it that blinded them from being objective about the state of chaos of the nation.
He lamented about the leadership crisis in many churches and the failure of the men of God to lead exemplary lives. The rollover effect of the lapses of church has sown the seeds of discord and vile existence of humanity. He also expressed his disaffection with the gradual relegation of soul wining and discipleship to oblivion.
In a clarion call to all ministers, he asked the men of God to lead a noble exemplary existence to ensure that the voice of the church remains relevant during consensus building and all affairs pertaining to the nation
