On the election of Nana Akufo Addo as the President-elect of Ghana on Wednesday, 7 December 2016, although still awaiting official confirmation of his election, I have the obligation to acknowledge the positive roles played by God, the Management of Ghanaweb, Modernghana, Sources radio UK, and the Ghanaian celebrities and electorates towards the successful election of Nana Akufo Addo.
Without God who granted us the health and strengthen to live to witness the Election Day, and you giving wider dissemination to Nana Akufo Addo’s policies and manifestoes, his election would have been very difficult. However, God touched your individual and collective hearts to permit yourselves and services to be used as vehicles for the conduction of the successful election of Nana Akufo Addo as the President of Ghana.
I personally owe a big thank you to Mr. Francis Akoto of Ghanaweb.com and his management without whom I could not have published, and continue to publish, my political views and campaign messages in support of Nana Akufo Addo. The platform they have given to me grants a worldwide public reading access to my views.
Similarly, I say a huge thank you to the management and staff of Modernghana.com. You have all these years been very supportive of my noble attempts to ensure that not only the incorruptible son of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo, becomes the President of Ghana but also, justice prevails in Ghana all of the time if possible.
Mr. Sarkodie, the owner of, and the Chief newscaster at, Sources radio UK, my own Agona clan member, and personal friend who sees me and treats as his father, has been of great service to me in my resolute determination to rid Ghana of injustices both in our political and chieftaincy arenas, as well as ensuring that Nana Akufo Addo became the President of Ghana. He has himself been to some extent the cardinal pivot on which the successful election of Nana Akufo Addo has revolved, and I hope he will be given a public recognition for that.
On many an occasion, some of my write-ups overflowing with truthfully and boldly expressed political and chieftaincy views have put them in some awkward situations. Some people had threatened to sue them if they did not remove such publications from their news portals and yet, they had, and still, do offer me the platform to let the whole world know where I stand when it comes to Ghana’s politics and chieftaincy issues.
The Ghanaian celebrities and artists, Agya Koo, Lucky Mensah, Nana Kwame Ampadu, Kwame A-Plus, Aseibu Amanfi, Kwabena Kwabena, Evangel Manfred, Diana Asamoah, Daddy Lumba, Great Ampong and all the numerous others whose names are not handy as at writing, I say a big thank you to you all. Without your crowd-pulling motivational songs and public-engaging roles played, Nana Akufo Addo’s election with NPP’s landslide winning of Election 2016 wouldn’t have been that much easier.
Lastly, but not the least, the final thank you goes to the Ghanaian electorates, students, teachers, doctors and nurses and all those who participated in one way or the other to make the election of Nana Akufo and Dr. Alhaji Bawumia and NPP possible to come to serve Ghanaians in all honesty and sincerity.
Once again, I say a big thank you to all.
Rockson Adofo
