According to the Police, Aku Korshie brought the boy from Kajadornya near Ada to stay with her at Agbogbloshie in Accra and she has since been “abusing him mercilessly without any cause”.
” Neighbours have confronted her on several occasions to desist from that act but she would not listen and would rather quarrel with them,” Supt. Phyllis Osei, Regional Coordinator of DOVVSU told journalists Wednesday.
On May 1, one of the neighbours, 28-year-old Emelia Tetteh found multiple marks of assault on the boy when he went begging for food from her, the police said.
According to Supt. Osei, when the accused was confronted, he denied but Emelia reported the matter to the police who arrested Kroshie.
” We are alarmed of the grievous harm meted out to this innocent todler. If not for this good Samaritan, we would not have known of this.
“We also want to appeal to all especially those who hand over their children to relatives and other people for care and support to ensure that they give their children to the right people,” Supt. Osei urged.
