A woman and her boyfriend have allegedly murdered her husband at Akim Asuosu, a farming community in the Birim Central District of the Eastern Region.
Police say Efua Sunka, 36 , and her 56-year-old boyfriend, Kwaku Ehia, killed the husband, Desmond Kojo Akwamu, 40, over a piece of cassava farm.
Sunka and Akwamu are said to have cultivated the farm together, but fighting between them forced Akwamu to leave town.
Sunka is said to have then got into a relationship with Ehia after her husband left.
Police say Akwamu heard reports that his wife was now involved with Ehia, so he returned to town and was staying with a friend.
He reportedly went to the cassava farm to harvest some of the produce one when Sunkwa and Akwamu caught up with him.
An argument is said to have ensued and they butchered him to death with a cutlass.
Police say the two fled to Nsabaa in the Agona East District of the Central Region after committing the act, but were tracked and arrested by the police based on a tip-off.
The two are currently being processed for court on the charges of murder.
