Multiple award-winning dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has reiterated that he is champion of the dancehall genre of music.
The BET award winner, who spoke to 3news.com, observed that his ability to remain the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year consecutively at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards only goes to show how hard he works to remain at the top.
“I am happy, and it actually cements my championship, because four times in a row at the Ghana Music Awards from 2014 till now means a lot,| Stonebowy born Livingstone Etse Satekla said.
“Winning awards like this just stamps my hard work and makes me fulfilled in a way as an artiste.”
Stonebwoy noted that although his record may be broken some day, he feels fulfilled to have been enjoying such privilege at the moment.
The ‘Bawasaba’ crooner further stated that he is hopeful one of his protégés will succeed him.
According to him, the opportunity to be recognized on many platforms as the best reggae\dancehall act serves as a source of encouragement for him.
“Being on different platforms like the 3Music Award, and even at the BETs, AFRIMA and making waves locally and internationally only gives me encouragement to keep doing what I always know what to do best.”
The dancehall artiste said his music is inspired by the fans and people who consume his music, as he churns out music that one can easily relate to.
“We all go through life and keep inspiring each other. I trust that if I go to the studio to put some creative piece together, majority of the pieces that I weave should be able to inspire them.”
He added that he makes sure that every word he puts together to create something is one he can also live with in order for other people to be inspired.
