Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda will not be renewing his expired contract with Nigerian giants Enyimba. Dauda who is set to return home to Ghana will be eyeing his next career move with a club in the Ghana Premier League most likely to sign him.
The Ghanaian goalkeeper left the Aba-based team after impressing in just one season. Now a free agent, Fatau will also share his skills with several clubs in the Ghanaian top-flight seeking players to boost their squads ahead of the start of the new season.
Abdul Fatau Dauda joined Enyimba FC on a two-year deal from Ghanaian Premier League side Asante Kotoko in 2016. Fatau who has also played in South Africa with Orlando Pirates and Chippa United, joined Enyimba along with defender Tijani Joshua that year.

Both players joined from top Ghanaian club Ashanti Gold SC. Enyimba had signed the duo in a bid to beef up their squad ahead of the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
Earlier in June, it was reported that the former Orlando Pirates and Chippa United goalkeeper will be given an improved contract extension. This was after he reportedly showed tremendous improvements in the league since joining Enyimba this season.
However, Fatau has opted not to continue his contract with the side.
According to reports, Enyimba will replace the outgoing goalkeeper with Nigeria goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa. Ezenwa whose contract with FC Ifeanyiubah ended this past season is set to become a direct replacement for the Ghanaian goalkeeper.
The new goalkeeper has previously featured for Sharks, Sunshine Stars, and Ocean Boys and has also been capped by Nigeria at U20 and U23 levels.
