The World Health Organisation’s Regional Director for Africa, Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, is expected to pay an official visit to Ghana.
The five-day visit begins on Saturday, April 21 and will provide an opportunity for the Regional Director to get acquainted with efforts, successes and challenges associated with the health and well-being of Ghanaians.
The WHO Regional Director will pay a courtesy call on President Nana Akufo-Addo and First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo as well as Ministers of Finance, Planning and Foreign Affairs.
Dr. Moeti will also be the Special Guest of Honour at the 2018 Annual Health Summit in Accra.
The Regional Director is expected to hold discussions with senior officials of the Ministry of Health as well as embark on field visits to some health facilities and health research centers in Ghana.
Dr. Moeti will also have engagements with the United Nations Country Team to discuss coordination of international health partnerships to support the health sector in Ghana.
