West Ham Coach Slaven Bilic, has described Ghana’s Andre Ayew as a serial goal scorer. Coach Bilic’s commendation of the Ghanaian player came after he helped the team earn their first victory in the new English Premier League season.
Andre Ayew inspired both goals that led West Ham United to a 2-0 victory against Huddersfield Town on Monday, September 11, at London Stadium.

The Ghanaian forward who did not begin the match with teammates was called off the bench in the 64th minute to replace Javier Hernandez, and in a few minutes made marks by assisting one goal and scoring one himself.
Just about 8 minutes after entering the pitch, Andre Ayew clipped the ball to teammate Pedro Obiang who took advantage of the move and netted the opener. Five minutes later, the Ghana national team Deputy Captain scored the second goal to crown The Hammers victory against The Terriers.
The 27-year-old thus earned the praises of his club’s Manager Slaven Bilic who has suffered three consecutive defeats since the start of the EPL season.
Describing Ayew as being consistent in scoring goals during a brief interview following the match, Mr. Bilic expressed happiness and gratitude over the fact that the Ghanaian attacker was given a chance in the game against Huddersfield. He said:
At a point, we needed to take risks even though Javier Hernandez Chicharito was playing well. I noticed he was getting tired as he had gone to play for Mexico and so I had to change things. That was the perfect moment for Andre Ayew to come into the game. We had to get fresh legs on the field and you know that Andre always scores and goals, and he did that again for us.”

West Ham’s win against Huddersfield was the club’s first in the season, after three consecutive loses to Manchester United, Southampton and Newcastle United.
After the three lost games in all which Ande Ayew played, Bilic had decided drop him for Andy Carroll who returned from a three man attack led by Mexico’s record top scorer Javier Hernandez Chicharito. But the manager along the line changed his mind, and it paid off well.
The victory, according to Coach Bilic whose 49th birthday fell on the matchday [Monday], was just the perfect birthday gift he needed.
Andre on his own part, dedicated his goal to his younger brother and fellow footballer, Jordan Ayew, who was also celebrating his 26th birthday same day.
