Kumasi Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Felix Annan, says he is unhappy with his side’s recent slump in the ongoing Ghana Premier League, promising to redeem the team’s image in their next game against Accra Great Olympics next Saturday.
Kotoko are without a win in their last seven games, a development the fans, management as well as the players are not happy with. Kotoko are currently in fifth position on the league table.
He told Onua FM at the Lizzy Sports Complex in Accra, where the team is currently lodging and preparing for their match day 14 game against Great Olympics.
“We know we have been in crisis for the past seven matches that we haven’t won any match. The fans are not happy and we are also not comfortable with the results,” he said.
“We plead our supporters shouldn’t give up. We will try as much as possible to redeem our image coming this Saturday. We want to win for them. We know a win only can please them. We will surely win for them,” he assured.
Commenting on their May 1 game against Accra Hearts of Oak, he accepted blame for their disappointing performance, saying “I accept the blame for the results in that match. I am sorry, fans should forgive me”
Felix Annan, 23, graduated from the Kumasi Asante Kotoko U-20 and later promoted to the first team of the club.
In the last two seasons, he was loaned to the Sagakope side, West African football Association (WAFA), but was called back to Asante Kotoko last season.
Felix Annan has been the first choice keeper for Kumasi Asante Kotoko this season, and has so far have exhibited good performance for his side despite the team’s poor performance lately.
