The opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC] is uncertain whether the founder of their party, John Jerry Rawlings will play a part in their upcoming 25th anniversary celebration.
It’s of a public knowledge that the former president is not ‘cool’ with some individuals of the ‘Umbrella’ fraternity and has isolated himself from major party activities including the 2016 presidential campaign of the party.
He has also lamented recently circumstances that nearly forced him to completely quit the party he formed – after tagging most of his party members during his June 4 speech at Wa in the Upper West Region as corrupt.
Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show dubbed ‘Ghana Montie’, the deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho sensed some fear that Mr. Rawlings will not participate in the party’s year long 25th Anniversary Celebration dubbed “Mirroring the Past Into the Future”.
“Former President Rawlings will be a speaker at the major event of the celebration. But we hope and pray that he will grace the occasion,” he told host Kwesi Aboagye.
