The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it is not liable for the bankruptcy of MMT
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it is not in any way liable for the bankruptcy of the Metro Mass Transit (MMT) Limited.
According to its National Organizer, Kofi Adams who was the campaign coordinator of the party in the 2016 general elections, the party has long settled its indebtedness to the MMT and therefore finds it strange of claims of new debts.
The Daily Guide Newspaper reported on its Thursday’s edition that officials of MMT are on the heels of the opposition party to cough out an amount of almost GHC1. 921, 896.99m being cost of buses it hired during the campaign period for 2016.
But responding to the claims on Asempa Fm, Kofi Adams said the party owed the company GH¢410,000 but paid the amount after an itemized bill was presented to his office.
He disclosed that the last meeting his outfit had with officials of MMT was in February and they promised to bring the itemized wondering where the new figure is coming from.
Officials of the MMT however insist that the NDC owe the company the stated amount being cost of 506 buses for 2016 electioneering campaign.
