The Deputy Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Nana Boakye has said vigilantism is not in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as many people may think.
The National Youth Organiser aspirant said perhaps recent disturbances by some of the party’s youth members may have given room to the assertion.
Speaking to Media General on Saturday while on an official visit to the north, Mr Boakye said the NPP is not noted for such.
Recent vigilantism by some of the party’s youth groups notably Delta Force and Invisible Force have awakened the need for the majority of the youth to get access to jobs.
Security analysts have claimed the partys youth are up in arms as a result of non-existent promised jobs.
Their activities have become cause for worry to National Security.
Mr Boakye met with NPP youth groups to re-energize them to front for the party.
He also assured them of massive jobs this year though, he believes, in one year, his government led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has done well in the area of jobs for the youth.
He said the right way to let peace prevail is by dialogue and he thinks the youth of the party are wise enough to engage with leadership of the party.
He said given the opportunity, that is what he will do within the party.
On the purpose of his official visit, he said the National Service Scheme has done a lot in the area of youth in agriculture with farms in Damongo, Yiziezi and Yagba Kobori helping a lot of the service personnel and graduates.
He said the Scheme has procured some modern machines to aid in their agriculture revolutions.
He assured that it will be a successful year for them once again.
He, therefore, urged graduates to actively venture into commercial agriculture in order to reduce unemployment in the country.
