Vic Mensa took to Instagram on Tuesday (Jun. 6) to announce The Manuscript. Fans of the Chicago MC won’t have to wait long, as its set to drop this Friday (Jun. 9). There’s no details if The Manuscript will an EP or Mensa’s official debut album, releasing under Roc Nation.
During a private listening session in Chicago last month, FakeShoreDrive’s Andrew Barber described Vic’s debut album as unapologetic, featuring appearances by Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, Ty Dolla $ign, Mr. Hudson, Chief Keef, Joey Purp, and Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo.
No I. D. serves as executive producer, while Pharrell, Da Internz, 1500 Or Nothin, Smoko Ono and Papi Beatz also contribute on the production side. The Manuscript comes a year after Mensa’s politically-charged There’s A Lot Going On EP.
“The Manuscript 6/8. 1 of 2,” said the 23-year-old in the Instagram caption of his announcement, leading some to believe another project is on the way this year.
