The 84 year old former actor, born Asonaba Kwaku Darko, died on Tuesday, February 13 at the Swedru Government Hospital where he had been on admission since Saturday.
Until his death, he had been away from the limelight due to ill health and lived in Agona Swedru.
Confirming the incident, son of the veteran actor, Simon Darko, said his father complained of not feeling well Saturday and was subsequently taken to hospital.
Super OD gained popularity in the Ghanaian entertainment scenes for roles he played in the popular television series Osofo Dadzie and Akan Drama.
Last year, TV3 Owusu Worae paid a courtesy call to the veteran actor in his Swedru residence.
During the visit he reported among other things the deteriorating health of the former actor and how he needed help.
Following Worae’s report on tv3, Member of Parliament for Agona East constituency stretched a helping hand to Super OD donating an electric chair, a thousand Ghana cedis and some assorted food items for his upkeep.
