The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) is expected to complete the validation process for all public sector workers between May 29 and June 2.
All workers affected by the recent clean-up of the payroll are, therefore, expected to fill SSNIT in on their details for re-enrollment between Monday, May 22 and Friday, May 26.
This directive was contained in a release issued on Friday, May 19 by Chief Director at the Ministry of Finance Patrick Nomo.
The release is to give new guidelines to workers affected by the recent clean-up of the payroll by the Ministry.
The clean-up saw the suspension of salaries for 26,589 workers “until their SSNIT re-registration is complete”.
Almost, 10, 000 workers later got validated and were re-enrolled, receiving their pays on May 11.
“About 3, 000 more are currently being validated and will be paid as part of the May 2017 salaries and will consider validated arrears.”
Workers, who are yet to be validated, have been directed to visit SSNIT branches with any national identification card so they can be paid by June 15.
Others with no SSNIT registration have been asked to start the process of biometric registration to be added to the payment in June.
“Government will continue to implement strategies aimed at cleaning the payroll and rationalizing its payroll cost,” the release assured.
