The Office of the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West Constituency, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has denied issuing a statement to render an apology over comments made at late songstress Ebony Reigns’s one-week celebration last Sunday.
A statement of apology, purported to have been issued by the Minister, emerged Tuesday morning following criticisms over the comments she made at the one week observance of the late artiste, which was captured in a video, and has since gone viral on social media.
The said statement accused hirelings of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and “rented journalists” for the spin.
“I wish to first and foremost apologise to the family and friends of Ebony who are hurt by the spin on my words which were taken completely out of context,” the statement read in part.
But the Office of the Minister has denied issuing a statement to apologise.
Editor’s Note: 3News wishes to retract and apologise to the MP and Minister of Communications for the earlier publication.
