A driver and two passengers of an O. A bus were shot by alleged armed robbers late Sunday on the Nandom-Lawra road in the Upper West Region.
The driver and one passenger were shot in the head while the third victim was shot in the neck through the windscreen of the bus with registration number GR 6499-09 at about 11:00pm Sunday.
The bus was travelling to Accra from Nandom.
According to eyewitnesses, the tyres of the bus were also shot at forcing driver to stop for the armed robbers to carry out their operation.
The victims were rushed to the Lawra District Hospital where they were said to have been treated with not so serious injuries to the head.
Meanwhile, residents suspected occupants of an unregistered pick-up vehicle which was heading to Wa from the accident area as being behind the robbery, and gave a description of the said vehicle to a Police patrol team.
The police subsequently managed to arrest the vehicle matching the description given by the residents except that the vehicle was registered,
According to the Police, that pick-up vehicle was also attacked by the robbers.
The vehicle and its occupants have since been released by the Police, Sup Alhaji fuseini Awinaba told TV3
