Two persons have been arrested in connection with the Tuesday morning robbery at the North Industrial Area.
According to the Ghana Police Service, they will assist in investigations.
A statement issued by the Service says it “has taken notice of the public anxiety over robberies around the capital over the last ten days”.
“We wish to assure the public that police is at the heels of these robbers whilst deploying men and resources to protect lives and property.”
The statement signed by the Director General of Police Public Affairs Directorate, ACP David Senanu Eklu, indicated that nine persons have so far been arrested in connection with the forex bureau and mobile money transfer robbery in Accra.
It said negotiations are also underway with the Bank of Ghana and the mobile money operators to identify better ways of enhancing security of their business.
The statement added that patrols have also been intensified in areas identified as robbery prone areas.
“The public is again reminded that the police emergency lines are active and anyone with information can call 191 or the crime fighters MTN-Vodafone toll free number 18555 for quick response.”
