Reports say that the youngsters were riding on a top speed whilst singing and performing the popular ‘One Corner’ song when the rider lost control whilst negotiating a curve.

The boys were riding oblivious of their high speed before they ran into a wall at a corner. The deceased were sent to the St. Elizabeth Hospital Mortuary at Hwidiem whilst the motor rider is in critical condition.

A revelation made by the Asutifi District Police Commander, DSP Mr. Teddy Damptey Brown was that one of the riders was taking motor riding lessons on that fateful night.

DSP Brown has advised motorists to value their lives and adhere to safety precautions when riding motorbikes, adding that none of the teenagers who were involved in the accident were wearing a safety helmet.

This recent one corner death brings to mind the fears of UK-based Ghanaian Gospel musician, Sonnie Badu who had talked about the health risks one corner dancers are exposed to.

The musician who expressed his concerns on the development said it has become more dangerous and life-threatening

for people engaging in the ‘one corner’ dance.

Sonnie Badu expressed worries over the fact that people perform the dance under vehicles, moving trucks, on electric poles and with other dangerous objects.

Ghana has seen Sonni Badu’s fears actualized several times with the most recent being the demise of two elated riders.

There was also an incident where a certain young lady lost her life while performing some gymnastics in the popular ‘One Corner’ dancing competition in the Central Region.
