The Kasoa Divisional Police Command has arrested two men for posing as military men and brutalizing residents of Gomoa Amanda in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The suspects are; Rydberg Afrifa, 27, and Prince Asante, 26.
The men, who claim to be soldiers, are currently in police custody, following reports from one man who claims to have been subjected to severe beatings by the men in military uniform after he hired them for services.
According to the victim, the military men had assured him that they could use their influence to protect his land only to be beaten mercilessly by the men after a misunderstanding between them.
Adom News’ Kofi Adjei o followed the story reported that some residents claim the men invaded their homes wielding offensive weapons like guns machetes and cudgel at Kasoa and started brutalizing them.
The Kasoa Divisional Police Commander, ACP Dennis Akob-Dem Abade who confirmed the incident said the suspects were arrested after they failed to prove their identity as genuine military personnel.
He said some of the victim’s claim the men and other suspects have been parading themselves as military officers extorting monies from them for protection.
ACP Dennis Akob-Dem Abade said the suspects will be arraigned before court soon after investigations.
