One of the suspects was in possession of a decayed material suspected to be a human part
The Akim Oda District Police Command has arrested two persons in possession of human parts at Akim Nkwanta a farming community in the area.
A man believed to be in his mid 30s identified as Kwabena Oppong according to the Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) ASP Ebenezer Tetteh was arrested on Sunday April 23, 2017 in possession of a decayed material suspected to be a human part.
He then led the police to arrest the second accused person Michael Essun alias “one man” from his hideout.
According to the facts of the case, Kwabena Oppong was arrested with a black polythene bag suspected to be containing a human skull. The town folks became suspicious of his movement when he was spotted in the town and confronted him demanding to know the contents of the polythene bag..
They seized it from him and when the contents were emptied a human skull fell down
After thorough interrogation as to how he came about it and threats to lynch him if he failed to speak the truth, the suspect mentioned one Michael Essun alias “one man” as the one who contracted him to bring the human Skull. Essun was subsequently arrested and assisting police in investigations. Meanwhile, one Danbuga also a suspect related to the case is on the run.
ASP Tetteh revealed that the suspect are due for court this week when investigations are duly completed but appealed to the general public to assist the police at all times by way of information or if they can arrest people committing or about to commit and hand them over to the police.
