Two persons believed to be members of a gang that raided the Droboso Cemetery in the Brong Ahafo Region, are currently in police custody at Wenchi.
The two, believed to have masterminded the grave looting, were arrested by community members at Nkonsia Cemetery, a farming community near Droboso on the dawn of Monday and handed over to the police.
This development came to light when the Assemblyman for Droboso, Opoku Adjei, led opinion leaders and community members to officially lodge a complaint with the Police in Wenchi.
The Police Commander of Wenchi, ASP Asamoah Agyekum, later confirmed the arrests to Citi News
Meanwhile, community members of Nkonsia are yet to meet their elders and authorities to take a decision on the matter.
The assemblyman for Droboso also called on residents to be on the look out for suspicious characters. Meanwhile the Wenchi police have declined to comment on the matter.
Over the weekend, residents woke up to find graves at a Methodist Church Cemetery in the area with some bodies either burnt or vital parts missing.
This sparked fears the looting was being done for ritual purposes.
