Former President John Dramani Mahama has acknowledged the “long” and “daunting” task of bringing the continent of Africa together as envisaged in the formation of the African Union in 1963.
But he believes the spirit of Pan-Africanism is very much alive today.
These were contained in Former President Mahama’s post on AU Day – May 25.
He challenges all and sundry to “keep working at it, let’s tear down barriers, let’s tear down stereotypes, let’s tear down the relics of Neocolonialism and let’s work hard to shape our common future as our forebears envisaged”.
Mr Mahama represented the country at the top level, Summit, of the African Union between 2013 and 2017 while president of Ghana.
