The identity of the policeman who was nabbed alongside an armed robbery gang in Accra has been revealed. Identified as Corporal Amegashie, 35, the police officer is alleged to have been in the business of supplying guns to robbers and on some occasions, joining them to perpetrate the act.
Recall that a policeman was on Wednesday, 13th December, caught at the Tsopoli police barrier in the Greater Accra region as he fled from arrest.
Apprehended with him were three robbers, two men and a taxi driver who are suspected to be the masterminds of robbery incidents at Community 18 and Sakumono in Accra, as well as the robbery attack at the Asante supermarket at Nungua in the Greater Accra region on the night of Tuesday, December 12.
The armed robbers reportedly made away with GHC54,000 from the supermarket, amidst Rambo style shooting. They were however, arrested the next day [Wednesday], following police response to a distress call from a motorbike patrol team around the Tema motorway, where they met the patrol team struggling with the robbers.

The four are expected to be arraigned at the completion of investigations.
