The “Duapa Challenge ” a social innovation support competition providing seed capital and business support for the early-stage viable social enterprise kicks starts today at the British Council Hall between 9 tertiary Institutions.
The competing schools are University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), University of Ghana – Legon, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), KNUTSFORD University College, Ashesi University, Central University, GIMPA, Lancaster University, and Catholic University.
Each of these institutions will have a team each of three or fewer students representing them at the first stage “The Pitch” of the competition. The teams will be required to develop and pitch their business ideas.
Two Schools will be evicted during the first stage with 8 teams making it to the second phase of the competition.
The topic for the “Pitch” will be Social mandate and impact of business, competitors will be awarded based on Content, Presentation, Time Management, Viability of Business.
