The Principal of the Tepa Nursing and Midwifery training college in the Ahafo Ano North of the Ashanti region, Ms. Victoria Amoah has denied her involvement in a corruption scandal that has hit the school.
It has been reported that the Principal, Victoria Amoah and an accountant Asamoah Richard have been involved in an alleged massive GHC 9, 247,800 admission fraud.
The two senior administrative members allegedly used fake receipts and invoices to milk the health institution during every admission yearly, accumulating to the stated amount.
The alleged corrupt practice began in 2011 two years after the college was established. A deep throat source within the management of the school and a teaching staff confirmed the corrupt practices of the two administrators with documents to back the claims.
Checks revealed that at least about 50 percent of past and current students on campus did not pass through any interview panel as prescribed by the ministry of health because admission into the school is being sold at a whopping 3000 Ghana Cedis.
The principal has also been accused by students of billing them with matriculation and medical exams fees before enrollment to the college without execution.
But speaking on Kofi TV, the embattled principal said the allegations leveled against her are all false.
According to her, some elements in the school who seek her downfall are trying hard to tarnish her hard earned reputation, hence the falsehood.
“The allegation against me is not true. Some people in the school elements in the school are trying hard to tarnish my image and want me sacked from the school.
Ms. Amoah indicated that though she has no problem being sent out of the school, she believes her name has been ridiculed and therefore will take legal action.
“I have no problem if am sacked form the school but my name and image has been mocked and so am working with her lawyers and will soon take some action” she said.
