A heavy rainstorm has hit Tatali-Sangule district in the northern region causing damage to several properties.
The rainstorm, which started Friday evening, damaged over 40 houses and other properties leaving residents in the area without shelter.
Electricity supply in the area has also been affected.
An Assembly Member in one of the electoral areas lamented to Citi News how the rains caused a lot of destruction to properties affecting many people in the area.
He therefore called on the authorities to as a matter of urgency come to the aid of the people.
“People slept outside in the rain throughout the night, and early this morning [Saturday], more rain came to worsen the situation because by that time, the people had not been able to clear the area and more property was destroyed again. We are making a passionate appeal to the authorities to come to our aid. NADMO and other philanthropists should also come to assist in the situation.”
