Nine persons died on the spot on the Kumasi-Tamale road after a Yutong bus with registration number GC-5148-Z collided head-on with a Kia bus with registration number GT-5892-16 at about 12:30am Saturday.
Thirty others have sustained various degrees of injury.

They were conveyed to the health facility after officers of the Tamale MTTU led by Aspol Debrah arrived at the scene, following a distress call.
While one of the vehicles was traveling from Tamale to Kumasi, the other was from Kumasi to Tamale.
“The drivers of the buses were not met at the scene,” a report issued by the Northern Regional Police Command said.
