Ghana’s Black Starlets will face the Eaglets of Mali in Sunday’s final of the 2017 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Mali booked a ticket to their second consecutive final after beating Guinea 2-0 on penalties on Wednesday. The two neighbouring nations had played 0-0 in full regulation time.
Ghana had earlier beaten Niger 6-5 on penalties after also playing a goalless draw in full regulation time.
Though with two titles, the Starlets last played in the final 12 years ago in The Gambia, losing to the hosts in controversial fashion.
Their last title came in 1999.
The final to kick off at 5:30 Ghanaian time will be played at the Stade de l’Amitie in Libreville, Gabon.
A win for Ghana will make the nation the most successful in the history of the tournament.
Before that match, however, Niger and Guinea will battle out for Bronze.
