Film producer Socrate Safo has finally been served an appointment letter as Director of Creative Arts, responsible for Programmes & Projects at the Commission for National Culture.
This comes after recent reports indicated that he had been working from the commission as Executive Secretary for the past months at the National Commission on Culture (NCC) without an appointment letter.
A lot of people threw their support behind the popular filmmaker upon hearing that someone else had been appointed for to take his position.
In an interview with Citi Showbiz, Mr. Safo said: “I am in charge of programmes and projects on creative arts at the commission. The Minister is the overall head per law.”
For the few months that Socrate Safo has been at NCC, he has renovated the office and has also put together several programs and projects like Ghana Wear Fair, ZongoFest and Harvest @17.
Socrate Safo is one of the creative artists that openly lent support to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) prior to the 2016 elections. When the NPP won power, he was tipped as a potential minister for the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
However, that appointment eluded him.
To most creative arts connoisseurs, Socrate’s role at the Commission for National Culture is very crucial in proving his mettle as a public servant.
