Six (6) people have died on the spot while eight others sustained various degrees of injury in a road crash that occurred at Samreboi in the Wassa Amenfi District of the Western Region.
Divisional MTTD Commander at Asankragwa, ASP Daniel Atta Sarfo who confirmed the incident to Adom News said the accident occurred around 8: pm Wednesday night.
According to him, the accident happened when a KIA RHINO bus which had several market women board landed in a river in an attempt to dodge a pothole.
ASP Daniel Sarfo said it took the combined effort of the police and the personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service to rescue all the victims in the mangled vehicles.
He indicated that those injured are responding to treatment at Samatex Hospital while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Enchi government hospital morgue in Wassa.
ASP Daniel Sarfo however, urged families of the accident victims to visit the hospital and indentify their relatives.
