A leading sport betting company in Ghana, Betway, on Monday launched its talent search aimed at unearthing football talents in the country.
The thee-month project kicks off in July and ends in September with the age category ranging between 18years and 25 years.
The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries including the Deputy Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah, Assistant Coach of the Black Stars Maxwell Konadu and Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association Ibrahim Saanie Daara.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah in an interview with 3news.com stated that Betway was dedicated to developing football talents in the country.
“Betway is undertaking this project to show commitment to the people we are serving by giving opportunities to young talents in the country.
“This project is aimed at giving talented footballers the chance to exhibit what they have and gain opportunities to play for established football clubs.”
Former Black Stars skipper Appiah reiterated that Betway was committed to the project of unearthing future football talents in Ghana.
“I want to see the next Stephen Appiah’s, John Mensah’s, Asamoah Gyans and all the other great football guys and I am fully in support of this initiative.”
The project will see the Talent Search team sniff around the whole country to discover Ghana’s next football star.
