Four communities in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem(KEEA) Municipality of the Central region have benefited from a medical support by the Member of Parliament for the area, Samuel Atta Mills.
The communities are Kissi, Kokoado, Sanka, Dompoase, Bronyima and Agona.
The medical outreach was targeted at the aged in such communities who hardly have access to quality health care as they are unable to afford the cost involved in accessing quality health care.
Over 500 aged in the area benefited from the health screening exercise which also saw the MP donating wheelchairs and assorted lenses to some 110 people disables in the community.
Partnered by a health based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in the area “No Your Age Aged Foundation” the MP indicates that the exercise is intended to empower the people to live better lives. He explained that the health of any individual is paramount as poor health affects productivity.
Hon. Samuel Atta Mills in an interview with Kasapa News’ Central regional correspondent Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour pledged his commitment to ensure the holistic development of the people in the municipality and constituency.
Job creation, he stressed will feature prominently on his agenda for the people of the area.
He added that plans are far advanced for the Komenda Sugar factory and the Elmina Fish Processing factory to resume operations so that more people in the area could be employed.
He explained that he is in constant touch with the minister in charge of trade and industry as well as Fisheries ministry in ensuring that the two factories start full operations soonest.
