The Ashanti Regional Disciplinary Committee Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Amoako Tuffour has launched a scathing attack on the regional Secretary of the party Sam Pyne accusing him of not doing his work properly.
The committee chaired by Dr Tuffour suspended the Kumawu Constituency Chairman Joseph Danso for protesting against the nomination of a District Chief Executive (DCE) by the President.
But Mr Pyne is reported to have said the committee has no right to sanction the Kumawu Constituency Chairman.
Speaking on Abusua Dawuro’s Kofi Asare, Dr Tuffour claimed Sam Pyne and other regional executives have been sleeping on his work.
He further accused Mr Pyne of neglecting his duty asking why Mr Pyne thinks his authority is above that of the committee which comprises level headed people.
the Chairman of the committee accused the regional secretary of not writing reports about the disciplinary committee meetings they have had saying he rarely calls for meetings as expected of him.
He indicated that the committee has not received any report from Mr Pyne who seldom visits his office to see report of the committee.
‘Its laughable, I feel ashamed about the whole brouhaha, Sam Pyne and other executives have not been doing their work properly, they don’t work, ask if the regional executives have been working properly, what report have they taken any action on. I can give you proof of sittings which they have not worked on, they always refuse to come out with reports. Have they come out with any objections or decision on any issue?. What research or investigations have they done about the issue concerning the Kumawu constituency Chairman?. Ask Sam Pyne the number of times he has called for meetings, he doesn’t invite executives for meetings, he seldom visits his office,’ he said.
He advised Mr Pyne to work assiduously for the progress of the party and tone down on the media fracas.
Dr Tuffour further admonished Sam Pyne to show respect to the committee members who are equally working for the party.
‘He shouldn’t act as if we are his servants,’ Dr Tuffour said.
The Committee members include: Madam Serwaa Derkyi, Dr Nsiah Asare, Nana Owusu ‘Otumfuo’s Mpaboahene’, Ayisi Boateng, former Chairman of the party Yaw Amankwaa among others.
