At least five homes were raided by armed robbers at Bediako in the Kpone-Katamanso constituency near Tema Community 25 Tuesday dawn.
3news.com’s reporter Josephine Frempong who visited the robbery scene said several people were injured with some suffering from serious knife wounds while others were severely beaten by the robbers.
At least a man was shot in the thigh.
The injured, including a boy who fainted after being tied with a rope during the operation have been rushed to hospital for medical attention.
The robbers made away with people’s mobile phones, laptops, money and other valuable items.
When Josephine contacted the Tema Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service, she was told the incident had not been reported to them.
The robbery incident has left residents traumatised but as at midday, a single police officer had not been sent to ascertain the situation at the crime scene.
Meanwhile, the robbers who came in groups left behind items such as talisman, jacket, mask, used bullet.
This is the third incidents in the community in less than a month.
