About 16 people, including the drivers of vehicles with registration numbers GW-2659-T and GM 5383-12, died on the spot after a head-on collision Sunday dawn.
The accident according a police report occurred on April 15, 2018 at about 1:42 am, on the Yapei-Buipe stretch of the Tamale-Kumasi Highway.
“The accident involved a Neoplan bus with 70 passengers on board traveling from Nalerigu to Ejura,” the report said.
On reaching a section of the road at Yapei-Yipala in a curve on the Tamale-Kumasi Highway the driver attempted to overtake a cargo car ahead of him.
“In the process, the vehicle crushed into an incoming bus”, the police report said.
Information available to 3news.com suggests that the injured have been sent to Tamale Teaching Hospital for treatment.
