Richard Akita, CEO of LunchPad launched, his book Unmasking Manhood geared towards aiding men to “unmask their legacy” at the Holliday Inn hotel on Saturday, May 27.
The book, priced at GHc 50, explores the idea of masculinity and society’s expectations of men.
The book was officially launched by Citi FM’s Benard Avle at a ceremony that followed Citi FM’s Family Month Family Breakfast Table event for men.
Mr. Akita was also available to autograph some copies of the copies bought at the launch.
“In Unmasking Manhood, the author points out that, our masculinity is not the question but the function of manhood.
According to him, in recognising the difference, an unmasked man will embrace the joy and call to being the generator as well as the sustainer of legacy not only in their family but within the community,” the books’ blurb notes.
Richard Akita has also said in relation to the book: “My journey thus far has been enlightening; a culmination of a great marriage to Najate, mentors, heroes, mistakes and self-discovery has prepared me not only as father to my biological children – Marcelle and Ryzard – but granted me the grace to step into fathering the community and be in readiness for grandparenting.”
