The right of those arrested should not be tremble upon,since they remain innocent for now
The Amnesty International Ghana is calling for justice for suspected killers of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama lynched by residents of Denkyiri-Boase on suspicion of being an armed robber while jogging on early hours of Monday, May 29, 2017.
While condemning the barbaric act by the residents, the president of Amnesty International Ghana called on the security agencies not to tremble upon the rights of those arrested since they remain innocent for now.
“Our laws are clear; identify the culprits involved in this unfortunate development, they must be questioned and interrogated. But in the process of investigation, it should be done with due diligence” Director, Lawrence Amesu pointed out.
“The laws are clear on issues of the presumption of innocence. The accused persons must be deemed innocent until proven guilty by the court of competent jurisdiction” he adds.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Ultimate FM, Amnesty International Ghana advised the military high command to leave the investigations to Ghana Police Service to ensure fairness expressing their disappointment in how military personnel raided the area.

Seven persons currently in detention at the Central Regional Police Command were arrested in connection with the mob attack that resulted in the death of the young officer.
They include; Yaw Annor a unit committee member who was possession of the weapon of the dead soldier, William Baah the assembly member, William Baah Bismark Donkor, Phillip Badu, Kofi Nyame, Anthony Amoah and Kofi Badu who will be arraigned before court today.
