The General Secretary of the main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu-Nketia has called for a thorough investigations to be conducted on the demise of the late NPP Upper East Regional Chairman, Adams Mahama. He also called for the release of Gregory Afoko, the brother of the suspended NPP Chairman, Paul Afoko.
His comment follows the allegations raised by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Northern Regional Chairman, Bugri Naabu about the Upper East Regional Minister Hon. Rockson Bukari and Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon.Otiko Afisa Djaba as being involved in the murder of the late Upper East Regional Chairman, Adams Mahama.
Speaking in an inspiring interview with Akwasi Boateng, host of “Maakye” program on Accra-based Hot 93.9FM, Johnson Asiedu-Nketia said, if Bugri Naabu can retract his allegation, apologise and go scot-free, then the suspect who is currently in police custody, Gregory Afoko must also be released because he also retracted his statement as having a hand in the demise of the late Adams Mahama.
According to him, Bugri Naabu and the names of people he mentioned must be handed over to the police for interrogation.
“Political parties do not deal with criminal cases. Bugri Naabu has tarnished the image of those he accused, the party and Ghana as a whole”, Asiedu Nketia passionately stated.
