A group calling itself Youth For Leo Nelson in the Akatsi South district in the Volta region says the nomination of Leo Nelson as DCE is all locals need to turn around the fortunes of the area.
Leo Nelson, according to the youth is a dedicated and selfless leader, whose administration will largely leave a mark on the district, hence a call for him to be endorsed by the assembly.
“Akatsi South as one of the pending district to approve its DCE nominee Hon. Leo Nelson for the district, is becoming a matter of our concern as far as our support and his hard work is concern.
“Hon. Leo Nelson, a selfless, dedicated and committed leader from Avenorfedo in the Akatsi South District has all the necessary skills to let the people of Avenor feel the change we call for. The one district one factory, health care, and education,” a statement released by the group said.
The Akatsi South Assembly rejected the candidature of Mr Leo Nelson Adzidogah as District Chief Executive for the area.
He had only 18 votes out of 39, representing 46 per cent, making him ineligible for a second chance voting.
But his followers are clamouring for him to be considered by the assembly, as they look forward for his re-nomination by the President.
“As we look forward for his excellency Nana Akufu Addo to re-nominate him, we are therefore, calling on all our Honorable assembly members to follow the footsteps of their colleagues from akatsi north and Agortime Ziope who failed in the first attempt to endorsed their nominees but after a second thought, gave them massive endorsements (by voting 100%) during their second sitting to also give the green light to Hon. Leo Nelson (HOME BOY) as we used to call him to deliver and help develop Avenor. Development is our priority and his priority but not selfishness. Further delay in this endorsement is delay in our development of Avenor.”
