President and Chairman of Groupe Nduom (GN) conglomerate, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has noted that good leaders always show up in bad times to deal with any situation at any given time.
Assuring employees and managers of Groupe Nduom, following Saturday, April 22, 2017 fire that gutted some sections of Coconut Gove Regency Hotel in Accra, the celebrated Ghanaian entrepreneur said: “So we must let our leadership character show, overcome these big challenges and forge ahead, stronger, wiser and better equipped to deal with anything that comes our way good and bad.”
Meanwhile, a statement signed and issued to Today yesterday by the Corporate Affairs Manager of Groupe Nduom, Mr. Richmond Duke Keelson, stated that Regency Hotel and its affiliates are intact, and that, the hotel will still operate.
This, the statement explained, “was because the front desk, guest rooms, meeting rooms, conference rooms, kitchen, laundry and other departments of the hotel were not destroyed by the fire.”
The statement also indicated that GN Bank and Gold Coast Fund Management (GCFM) branches which are located at the hotel at North Ridge in Accra will open for business today, Monday, April 24, 2017.
GN Bank, Gold Coast Fund Management and Amansan Television (ATV) that are based at the hotel, the statement said, “will open for business today.”
As for ATV, the statement said, it was supposed to begin broadcasting early evening yesterday.
“Our cherished customers are respectfully requested to go to the old Gold Coast compound right next to the Regency to transact business. GN Bank’s ATM at the Regency is working and available for use,” the statement further assured.
“All customer funds are safe. All vaults have been recovered intact,” it added.
According to the statement, Groupe Nduom representatives will be available at the Regency Hotel to answer questions and provide needed information as and when it becomes necessary.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Interior, Ambrose Dery, who was also at the place last Saturday, told the media that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had been briefed on the matter.
Mr. Dery said he expects a full-scale investigation and a report to provide guidance on how to effectively tackle such fires in the future.
However, as of the time of going to press, work was fervently going on at the hotel to put things in order for commencement of business today.
