Black Stars forward Raphael Dwamena is calling on fans to come to the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday to support the Black Stars against Ethiopia in the AFCON 2019 qualifiers.
The Black Stars have been training in Kumasi since Monday ahead of the match. On Wednesday, they beat Asokwa Deportivo 6-1 in a warm up match and Dwamena scored two goals on the day.
He said after the match that the supporters should fill the stadium as they seek to win against Ethiopia.
“I am grateful to the fans for showing up today. I did not expect a lot of them to be at the stadium for this training match. We are hoping that they will come in their numbers on Sunday and support the Black Stars so we can beat Ethiopia.”
Dwamena said that he and his team mates are very prepared for the encounter and they will have to rely on the collective effort to get the right result.
“We, the players, are focused on the game and we just want to win. The most important thing for us is that the team should win. It is not about the individuals.”
