Barely 48 hours after Dr. Elsie Effah Kauffman, quiz mistress of the National Science & Maths Quiz lost her bag and its valuable content at the grand finale of the contest, Citi News has learnt that her ID cards and purse have been found.
They were dropped at the University of Ghana by an unknown person.
The found purse contained her drivers’ license and ATM cards, however, the money was taken.
Dr. Kaufmann’s sister, Belinda Yaa Dankwaa Effah in a Facebook post on Saturday said: “Update from NSMQ Mistress’ stolen bag: Wallet /purse inside the bag has been dropped at the University of Ghana.”
She added that, “Dr. Elsie Effah Kaufmann thanks whoever came to drop off the purse. She says she needs to have a perfect score so the bag also has to be dropped. The purse has her IDs, drivers license and ATM cards. The cash is gone.”
She had earlier posted the Quiz mistress’ appeal for the bag to be returned.
After a successful final between Prempeh College, Adisadel College and St. Thomas Aquinas at the National Theatre on Thursday, it emerged that the Quiz Mistress, Dr. Elsie Effah Kaufmann’s handbag had been stolen.
Efforts to immediately trace the thief proved futile, forcing organizers to make public appeals for assistance to retrieve the bag which is said to have contained her car keys, keys to her house, ATM cards, her purse, some amount of money, reading glasses, among other valuables.
