Popular legal practitioner and social critic Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has called on President Nana Addo to prosecute the erstwhile government ministers and apparatchiks who are perceived to be corrupt.
The controversial lawyer speaking on Accra based radio station Neat Fm morning show dubbed; ‘Ghana Montie’ with Kwesi Aboagye said some NDC officials who perceived to be corrupt must be prosecute immediately to serve as deterrent to others in the current government.
Assessing the President Nana Addo’s 100 days in office, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw applauded President Nana Addo for his 103 achievements.
Lawyer Ampaw also highlighted that although the current NPP government has chalked 103 successess within the 100 days but the activities of Delta Force and Invincible Force have overshadowed their success story.
He commended President Nana Addo for showing commitment to fight against corruption in the country.
He expressed confidence in the current NPP government”President Nana Addo will perform within his four years”, Lawyer Ampaw stated
Lawyer Maurice Ampaw also appealed to President Nana Addo to establish the office of the Special Prosecutor(s) to deal with the mess and unmeritorious activities of corruption exhibited under the out-gone NDC-Mahama led government. He said corrupt people should be brought to book. Lawyer Ampaw allegedly cited Alfred Woyomi, Betty Mould Iddrisu, Obo Bartin Oduro, Samuel Okudzato Ablakwa as corrupt officials in the NDC administration .The Special Prosecutor’s office must come and deal with these people.
Lawyer Maurice Ampaw described the opposition NDC party as weak opposition for not putting the NPP government on its toe but rather fighting among themselves.
“NDC is highly confused in their minds, they are not united, they don’t know where to start, whether to tackle the government or even put their house in order” said by Lawyer Maurice Ampaw.
He added that “Mahama is saying something different, the footsoldiers are also saying something different, the centre cannot hold,they are thinking of who to lead the party as their flag bearer in 2020”.
“I beg the NPP footsoldiers and those floating voters who voted for Nana Addo to support Nana Addo’s administration and give him space to govern”, Lawyer Ampaw.
