A Senior Lecturer at the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana, Professor Ransford Gyampo, has expressed repulsion over the media’s performance at the presidential encounter.
According to him, most of the questions were not good enough to pin the president.
The Political Science lecturer thinks it would be more productive if the president interacts directly with the citizenry to get many people to engage with him instead of the media.
Professor Ransford Gyampo was disappointed in the media for their abysmal performance especially in the line of questioning.
He noted that only a few media personnel asked good questions.
He added that the questions were “shallow and were not properly researched”, making it easier for the president to deal with them.
Prof. Gyampo also said that there were more critical issues that needed answers from the president .
However, the media failed to be the voice of the people to ask thought-provoking questions.
Professor Gyampo feels the media failed in representing the people stating it would serve a better purpose if the program is scrapped.
