Presbyterian Boys SHS, Legon proved too strong for Keta SHTS in the last National Science & Maths Quiz quarter-final contest on Saturday.
The final round, presenting riddles, proved to be the decider, with PRESEC reminding why they are considered perennial favourites for the NSMQ crown.
PRESEC triumphed with 53 points to Keta SHTS’ 44. Jachie Pramso SHS, who will be remembered for knocking out Pope John, finished with 31 points.
PRESEC and Keta were neck-in-neck with 31 points a piece heading into the dreaded round 4, where every wrong answer attracts a deduction of 1point from accumulated points, while a correct answer is worth 2 points,
The two schools again came out of this round tied at 41 points ensuring that the contest was going to go down to the wire.
The final round saw PRESEC gobble up three of the four riddles on offer to brush aside their opponents from Keta.
