Music trio Praye seem to have come back together as a music group as they mounted the stage at the 19th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. It is not quite clear yet whether their reunion is just for the VGMA stage or it is for good.
The trio who have been apart embarking on solo projects for some years now staged a nostalgic performance, thrilling patrons with their old tunes. From ‘Angelina’ right through to ‘Hankerchief’, the trio took patrons down memory lane as they jam to the songs.
The auditorium of the Accra International Conference Center went agog as the house stood on their feet to dance to songs of the trio.
Comprising Eugene Baah (Choir Masta/ Praye Ho Ne Ho), Steven Fiawoo(Cartel Big J/ Praye Tiatia), and Nana Kwame (Kente/ Praye Tenten), the Praye group shot to fame after winning the maiden edition of the Nescafe African Revelation contest in Ghana,as well as the West African grand finale. They became one of the formidable groups in the country churning out hits after hits until they parted ways pursuing solo projects.
Efforts had been made in the past to patch the differences of the group and bring them back together but all to no avail. Their 2018 VGMA performance therefore leaves many wondering whether Praye is back to stay.
