Police have warned motorists plying the Accra-Mankessim to be wary of a parked Benz truck at Gomoa Adam near Apam junction in the Central Region.
The blue and white truck with registration number AS 7270 E appears to have developed a fault.
“Drivers plying the said highway; from Mankessim to Accra, and Accra to Mankessim should exercise caution to avoid accident,” a flash message from Richmond Mensah of the Public Affairs Director said.
This comes in the wake of a deadly accident Wednesday night involving the team bus of Ghana Premier League club Asante Kotoko.
“Efforts are being made to tow the vehicle to a safer place.”
Meanwhile, the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service says it is embarking on an exercise to clamp down on drivers who use road shoulders during rush hours as well as those who unlawfully use sirens.
A similar exercise, the Department said, on Monday resulted in the arrest of 17 drivers at Cantonments, Accra.
